Praise the LORD with harp: sing unto him with the psaltery and an instrument of ten strings. Sing unto him a new song; play skillfully with a loud noise.
Psalms 33:2,3
ICWC's Choir reflects the Triune-God's ordainment, guidance and grace.
Just like our Triune God, the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit - in person three, yet in substance one, choir has three simple purposes. They are:
1. To glorify the Triune God
2. To edify his sheep and
3. To fight the powers of darkness through singing and playing instruments.
ICWC's Choir renders a variety of songs and musical ensembles (traditional hymns, contemporary Praise and Worship, Keerthanais, English songs and other renditions). The Choir is supported by a youth band and adult team (Children, Teen and Adult musicians) with instruments such as tambourine, violin, saxophone, keyboards, piano, pipe organ, mandolin, drums, and guitars. A volunteer organist supports the choral and music ministries.
The Choir participates all the four Sundays. Songs with musical scores are sung in four part harmony. The Choir takes part in other church events such as Christmas Concert, Maundy Thursday, Lent Fridays, Good Friday, Easter, Retreats and other concerts outside the Church.
Children musicians and junior Choristers are often a part of the adult choir. Adult and children Musicians must be trained to sight read and play musical scores. Choristers will be taught to sight read and sing four-part harmony in the musical scores. The Choir is well supported by a group of volunteers who prepare the song sheets and take care of the audio system. The Choir works in harmony with the Pastor in choosing songs that align with the sermon theme set the tone for invoking the presence of the Holy Spirit and move people's hearts.
Prayer is a critical part of the Choral ministry. The Choir walks on its knees and prays together often to accomplish its vision, mission and goals of the Kingdom of God. Those who wish to be a part of the choir can contact the Choir Director at choiradmin@inchristwc.org.
