A Pastoral Letter of Hope
"Return to Your Stronghold" – Zechariah 9:12
Dear Beloved Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
As we journey through life's changing seasons, we often encounter moments of disappointment, uncertainty, and weariness. Some carry hidden burdens, others wrestle with unanswered prayers, while many quietly long for renewed strength. Into every situation, the Lord speaks His life-giving promise:
"Return to your stronghold, you prisoners of hope. Even today I declare that I will restore double to you." (Zechariah 9:12)
நம்பிக்கையுடைய சிறைகளே, அரணுக்குத் திரும்புங்கள்; இரட்டிப்பான நன்மையைத் தருவேன், இன்றைக்கே தருவேன்.
What an extraordinary invitation! God does not call us prisoners of fear or despair, but people of hope. Our hope is not built upon circumstances but upon the unchanging character of our faithful God. He is our Stronghold—the Refuge who never fails, the Fortress that cannot be shaken, and the Shepherd who never abandons His flock. The Lord calls us to return to Him again and again. In His presence we find strength for the weary, peace for the troubled heart, courage for tomorrow, and grace for today. His promise of restoration reminds us that He is always at work, redeeming our losses, strengthening our faith, and accomplishing His perfect purposes. Though His timing may differ from ours, His faithfulness never fails. Therefore, let us not lose heart. Let us remain steadfast in prayer, faithful in worship, united in love, and joyful in hope. The God who has led us thus far will surely continue to lead us into His good and perfect will.
With grateful hearts, I thank God for the wonderful retreat He graciously blessed us with. We experienced His presence in a very special way as we worshipped, prayed, learned, and fellowshipped together. Our sincere appreciation goes to Rev. Dr. Martin Alphonse for faithfully ministering God's Word through the inspiring theme, "Better Together." The retreat strengthened our fellowship, renewed our vision, and gave us valuable insights as we seek God's direction for the future of our church.
As we move forward, we believe God is calling us to strengthen our ministry among adults while intentionally developing vibrant discipleship ministries for our Youth, Teens, and Children. We eagerly look forward to seeing how the Lord will raise up leaders, empower His people, and use these ministries to build His Kingdom. I humbly ask you to uphold these ministries continually in your prayers.
As we enter the month of August, let us continue to seek the Lord with renewed commitment and expectancy. I encourage every member to participate faithfully in our spiritual gatherings. We have already begun the month with our Early Morning Prayer on 1 August. We look forward to our Intercessory Prayer on 9 August, Family Fasting Prayer on 15 August, All-Night Prayer on 28 August, and Ezra Prayer on 29 August. Our Men's Fellowship will meet on 8 August, and our Women's Fellowship on 16 August. We are also delighted to welcome Mrs. Elizabeth Rajkumar as our guest speaker during the worship service on 16 August. I encourage you to attend these gatherings and invite others to join us as we grow together in faith.
I also want to express my heartfelt gratitude for your faithful generosity. Your tithes, offerings, and subscriptions continue to sustain the ministry of our church and advance the mission of Christ. Every gift reflects not only your sacrificial giving but also your love for God and His Kingdom. May the Lord, who sees every act of faithfulness, richly bless you according to His abundant grace.
Thank you to everyone who has already completed the online ministry survey. Your thoughtful responses will help us prayerfully shape the future direction of our church ministries. If you have not yet participated, I kindly encourage you to do so. Your voice matters, and your input is greatly appreciated.
My prayer for each of you is that you will remain a people of hope, firmly anchored in Christ. Whatever challenges you may face, remember that our Stronghold remains unshaken. Continue to trust Him, serve Him faithfully, and encourage one another until the day we see His promises fulfilled.
May the Lord fill your hearts with His peace, renew your strength, restore your joy, and deepen your hope as you walk faithfully with Him each day.
Yours in the joyful service of Christ,
Rev. Dr. Devadosan Sugirtharaj
