From the time he put him in-charge of his household and of all that he owned, the Lord blessed the household of Egyptian because of Joseph – Gen 39:5

The Lord, making the life of Joseph a channel of blessing to Potiphar was a condition. The condition was, Joseph must be made a man in charge of Potiphar’s household! Joseph is often compared with Christ Jesus. There are so many similarities between Joseph and Jesus Christ. The only way by which our household could be blessed is by making the Christ (the Joseph) be in-charge of our lives. Then, only then, we would be able to be a channel of blessing to others. Is Christ in-charge of your life? Is Christ in-charge of your household?

Once the great evangelical theologian John Stott was asked by a Chinese student, “Tell me what Christianity is all about in one sentence”. Stott smartly answered, “Christ must move into the center of your existence, and you must move to the circumference, that is what Christianity is all about”.

Who is in-charge of your household? If Christ is, then, you will be a blessing in this heathen world.
